Clarksburg's Sidewalk Rule
In Clarksburg, property owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalk in front of their property. If the city issues a notice of violation, the owner has five days to clear it. After that, the city’s public works crew can clear it and bill the owner.
Landlords and owners who live out of town are the ones most likely to get caught by this. Adding the city sidewalk to your snow plan takes care of it.
Steep Driveways and Refreezing
A lot of driveways around here climb from the street to the house. Plowing a steep driveway is only half the job. Meltwater runs downhill during the day and refreezes at night, usually right where you need traction most, near the street and at the bottom of the steps.
We plan where plowed snow goes so it doesn’t melt back across the driveway, and we can add a salting visit when temperatures swing above and below freezing.
